Dagger

My friend has asked me to draw a picture of her. I can draw faces but I cannot capture someone's appearance on paper. So I drew her an abstract picture representing her. This is it.

This is a dagger with an ivory handle and metal base. It is inspired by an Indian dagger, but has a lot of detail and complexity. A spirit is holding it.

Monk bladeling

This is a monk bladeling. I have drawn this as an illustration to my D&D character. Bladelings are known to have their body covered with sharp spikes. As training this bladeling has metal rings on many of his blades which makes his body much more heavy. He has a bunch extra rings on those strings. He uses his staff for defense and his fists for attack.

I do not like how the feet came out. And overall the picture is rather rough.

This picture took me a very long time, probably because of those spikes. I drew it with a black pen on the letter paper.

Crysad Royalty

This is another crysad I have drawn in the last month. She is part of the royalty of crysads. The thing about crysads is that three out of four of their kingdoms are ruled by women. They possess all the power, even though men mostly fought in wars while women were tacticians, generals and none-the-less skilled warriors. The royal women generally would wear long dresses made of leather with bells attached to the bottom or sides. Those bells represent both wealth, since the metal is very rare in the forests where crysads live, and power, since they are not only seen but also heard when they walk. When royalty gets together it is like an orchestra when they move.

This particular woman has a weapon made of shoulder crystals which is also rather rare since those crystals has to be properly collected and preserved for them not to shatter. Usually during a disease crystals start to shatter and fall off and grow back when a crysad gets better. They completely shatter upon their death. The size of crystals often represents how healthy a crysad has been during their life. One particular quality of the crystals is that even if they are damaged they still stay sharp for that reason crysads use them for weapons.

I forgot what that leather bag was for. It looks like it is used for storing water.

This picture is rather boring because she is standing facing the viewed with hands down. As with previous picture I just wanted to get the basics of the crysad woman with some fashion thrown in. This picture is  missing a lot of shading especially on the bottom part of the dress but i do not feel like finishing that.

Crysad Priest

So two months later I upload a picture once again. I did not have an access to internet for half of that time and the other half I did not draw anything.

This is is the picture of a crysad priest. Crysads are a race of people who I have thought of in my leisure time. They have crystals growing on their shoulders and the back thus the name. They also have certain facial features. This particular specimen is a priest of a church that crysad society has. Their lead the life of solitude and only meet with other folk to perform certain rituals. They are revered among their people, but scarcely understood. Priests when not performing rituals are said to be talking to god or gods. Most of these priests are males. Females are only common on the top of the hierarchy in this church. Also that disc on his chest is made of bone and is attached to his ribcage, so to enter this order is painful and even more painful is to leave it.

For the most part this picture is boring with the guy standing up straight with his arms down. When I drew it I only wanted to get the basic properties of a crysad man and some priestly outlook.

This is drawn with an HB pencil on drawing paper. It surprisingly took me couple hours to draw this.

He is a guy with a gun, a character for a comic that does not exist. His ethnicity is undetermined. He is also serious, calm, determined and deadly with a hint of sadness in his eyes. He wears leather coat and a t-shirt. After I scanned the picture I also realized that he is skinny or at least skinnier than I intended.

Inspired by all the bad-ass characters with a gun. 

The line across his chest is kind of annoying, but it was there before he was. It has also given the picture its alignment that is why it is slightly tilted to the left. This is less noticeable on the paper then it is on the digital copy. Overall it is a decent picture, nothing too outstanding.

Blue ink pen drew it on white letter paper.

This is a demon with a spear. He is resting in the defensive stance protecting his sides with the shaft of the spear and his hand on the other side. Due to powerful legs he can easily move his body between them which would allow him to turn defensive stance into offensive. He also fights with his razor sharp claws on both legs and hands.

Nothing inspired me to draw this, just sat down yesterday and drew it. 

The tattoo covers a bad case of transparent hand. The right hand is kind of dark. And besides those two flaws I like this picture and all its parts.

Black ink on white letter paper. Took me 60-90 minutes. (The black ink looks kind of dirty).

The picture of a guy shouting in rage I think. 

Just a doodle I particularly liked because I was able to portray a face in certain angle. It is also not a usual way I draw faces.

Much of the detail and features are unfinished.

It is harder for me to draw and post pictures every day than I thought. One day I do not want to draw anything at all and another I finish several pictures. Sometimes I do not want to or do not have time to post pictures, like past several days. So for that reason I post two pictures tonight instead of one. Here is the second one:

This being might be an elemental or a demon or a human in mask and costume. I do not know what it is but I think it is best described as an emotional manifestation of anger or danger. She holds a hand with fingers bent inside exposing the talons. With that hand she stops someone by threatening him or her, but she is also ready to attack if it does not work. In the center of her body is the emotion concentrated into a stone. It spills out of it engulfing her in flames. She stands on her toes to be conceived as being taller than she really is. She has no facial features making her less human and also impossible to understand what is going on in her mind if she has one. The eyes also has no focus point, so it is impossible to glance into her soul if she has one again. No skin makes her look even less human.

As one could probably guess this picture was inspired by an emotion or an emotional state of an angry person (myself most likely). 

This picture is good overall. I am only dissatisfied with the thumb on the hand because it is curled too much inside but that happened only because I forgot how the hand should look like and remembered too late to correct it.

Blue ink pen on white letter paper. It took me slightly more than an hour to draw this not including some rough work I had to do before hand to familiarize myself with the prospective and posture. This picture has a lot of detail so I decided to post a large copy.

A woman figure

This is just a picture of a naked woman. She is a posture of stopping someone coming from behind. (You can effectively ignore that extra face underneath her hand.)

No inspiration here, just a picture I would draw while doing other things on my computer.

I really hate her face and I think it is obvious that I do. At one point I was going to just fill it with blackness (blueness in this case...) so that no features would be visible but in the end decided to keep it so maybe I can learn from my mistakes later. The hands came out really well, I cannot say it happens often on my pictures. The rest of the picture is just an exercise in shading and human body shaping, nothing special.

It took me 20-30 min to draw this on yellow paper with blue ink pen.

Here I drew a man in a hat sitting in a pose of lotus. I do not really know what else to say about him. He has no story. He is just an idea I absolutely had to express.

Interestingly enough this picture got inspired by a cone hat I saw.

This man lacks anything interesting besides that hat with a trident of course. I could have added some more detail and features to him but I decided not to. At first, I had an idea of a sort of goblin shaman.

I used blue pen on letter paper. It took me 30-40 minutes.

Goblin man

   This is a man or a goblin trying to keep something off the paper. He believes that shouting will help him do it so he lets it all out. 

   I drew the face first (as usually happens for me when I draw) and then the rest followed. I tried to put him in the odd position to study his muscles in that particular form. I was also forced to do extensive shading to cover the neck line which I drew before I made him push something. 

   His mouth is too big (for a human at least) and his face lacks expression that would make him more realistic.

   I drew this with a blue ink pen on yellow letter paper in about 45 minutes.

First picture

   This is a warrior in tights ready to engage in fist fight. 

   The physical danger is probably the most stressful state one can experience. I tried to make him look calm but concerned. In some sense smiling to the danger.

   I personally do not like how his face turned out. It is slightly asymmetric and it seems it is too big. He is leaning to his right and has feet cut off due to some bad picture planning.

   Drawn on letter paper with sharp and dull HB pencils. It took me about an hour from start to finish.
